1. Followed original instructions that came with snow thrower.
2. Removed right end cover. Have had thrower for many years, so wire brushed phillip-head screws - one came out second broke off as could be expected.
3. Could not break loose the hex nut even tapping wrench with hammer and using pipe to extend wrench handle for m
... Read moreore torque, so removed left cover and used large socket and ratchet while holding hex in place.
4. Did not come loose (actually applied so much torque shaft began to twist).
5. Used several applications of WD40 over next couple of days - attempting removal each time to no avail.
6. Because of the age of the equipment, I do not believe it can be repaired for less than the cost of a new thrower, but I had to try. I was well satisfied with your parts and delivery.
