Removed carburetor. Mounting bolts are underneath, facing up, so using a slim box wench is best. Remove any governor linkage that is in the way. Disassemble carburetor and match up parts from repair kit. Discard parts and gaskets that are not for your model. Wash disassembled carburetor and blow out passages with compressed air. Reassembl e using new parts and gaskets for both carburetor and fuel pump. Use a dab of white grease to keep your fuel pump flapper-valve springs from falling out. If you have a brass float, shake it and listen for any gas that may be inside. If you hear gas sloshing, pause the repair and order a new float, preferably a plastic one. My float was half-full, which was most, if not all, of my problem. The float failed to shut off the fuel when the bowl was full. When all your parts are replaced, set the high and low speed needle valves to approximately 1 1/2 turns from full closed. Reinstall carburetor. Things should be better now.

Removed carb and cleaned in carburetor cleaner.
Opened passages with fish line, small wire can scare the passages.
Used carb repair kit to replace float valve and gaskets.
Used parts in kit to replace diaphragm and gaskets in vacuum operated fuel pump on side of carb being careful not to lose 2 tiny springs in the pump.

Watched youtube videos of carb repairs for my tractor and engine. Disassembled the air filter housing and removed the choke cable from the carburetor. I removed the top of the carb and replaced the needle valve. I cleaned out the carb body but did not remove the carb from the intake manifold. I reassembled the carb top with new gasket s supplied in the kit. Reinstalled the air cleaner with a new filter and pre filter foam. I swapped in the new spark plugs and it started right up and runs with the choke all the way in! Job done!

Removed the carburetor, and with the help of a friend, slowly dismantled it. Taking pictures and making notes where all of the parts went. We laid all of the new parts out on a clean cloth, and matched the old parts with the new part as we took them out. Once we had it down to the bare carburetor, we cleaned it thoroughly with carb cleane r. Then started to rebuild it. To my surprise we got it right the first time. Because when we attach the carburetor to the mower, it started up after about four pulls. And it has been running great since.
