Product Description

?

It is an authentic amature-magneto (ignition coil) which was specially designed for use with Briggs and Stratton engines used on lawn and garden equipment. The purpose of this item is to deliver electric current for the ignition system. It produces pulses of high voltage which then are sent to the spark plugs. It is mainly made out of metal and it is sold individually. Please note a spark plug boot is sold separately. Please note replacing this module would differ based on your unit, however the basic steps would be the same. To complete this repair you would need screwdriver set. • Remove the housing/covers from the unit • Remove the spark plug • Bind the cylinder • Remove the air filter cover and side cover • Remove the throttle cable from the carburetor • Disconnect the wires • Remove old ignition coil • Install new ignition coil • Install the red wire • Set the gap • Install the black wire • Reassembly and test the unit

The part number I have for the magneto is 492341My motor stopped and I had no spark. I replaced the magneto with a new one. The motor started right up ,so I cut the lawn . The next week I went to cut the grass and the motor wouldn't start. I checked for spark and didn't have any, same as the problem before. I hate to put out another 50 bucks for another coil. Could you give me some tips on what to look for?.

Initially I replaced the ignition coil. That was quick and easy. That didn\'t resolve the issue. Replaced the ignition switch. Easy. Still having trouble with it cutting off. Took the clean air filter off and it ran fine. Hmmmm took carburetor off, cleaned it and replaced the fuel solenoid and it seems ok..... for now
