The clutch cable attaches to the clutch cable head assembly and is made of metal and plastic. You may need an allen wrench and a set of pliers when replacing this part. Follow the route of the cable from the lever to the spring before removing the old clutch cable. I started my replacement by first attaching the spring and ending with the knob which connects to the clutch lever. Look carefully how the new clutch line connects to the mower along the way. The notches are for the cable to go through, not the plastic guides. Take your time and you will learn as you disassemble the cable

The end of the cable broke that engages the mower deck

Unhooked the end of the cable withe the springe from the deck
Removed broken end from lever to engage the mower
Hooked the end to the lever
Routed other end to the deck that had the spring
Used pliers to pull catch into place on cable housing

1. remover gas tank
2. remover old clutch mount
3. cut old clutch cable
4. installed top of clutch cable and feed remainder
through to mower deck.
5 reinstalled clutch mount.
6. removed to cotter pins holding remained of clutch cable and removed remainder of clutch cable
7. installed new cable an d spring to clutch replace cotter pins.
8. reinstalled gas tank.

Mower deck was worn down. I purchased a new deck and vortex blade. Found a few parts that needed to be replaced and purchased those also.

Deck is prepped and ready to be installed this fall. All the new parts will go onto the deck at that time. I will have to remove the old deck and transfer the new parts at that time. I will apply a heavy coat of bedliner to the underside of the new deck as we have a lot of sand that eats (sandblast) the deck into thin metal.

lower the deck to its lowest setting disconnect the engagement cable to this you have to remove battery and battery holder disconnect cable from the handle inside remove clip that holds cable on the deck than remove cable spring from the pulley attachment

It was a very simple fix. Just remove 2 pins, remove the cable and replace it with the new cable.
