The deflector shield attaches to the deck and the torsion spring. This is an authentic Husqvarna, Poulan, and Jonsered replacement part that is sourced from the original manufacturer for use with ride mowers and lawn tractors. It is available individually and is made of plastic. A screwdriver and a hammer might be required during the replacement of this part. This part may become broken and will need to be replaced.
Took the retainer cap off the holding pin that attached shield to the mower deck
Then removed pin and spring from mounting bracket.
Removed shield
Placed new shield on the deck, while holding the tension spring in position

Removed deck and removed blade, then the mandrel pulley and spindle, replaced with new parts and back in service. The new mandrel is not threaded for the bolts connecting it to the deck, but the bolts are self tapping.
