This is an authentic part assembled by original manufacturer. It fits various models of Poulan chainsaws. Ball bearings lessen friction between moving parts. They also hold and stabilize parts\' position and angle. Bearings are high wear pieces and can need replacement often. Included is one (1) bearing and one (1) seal.

... Read moreplaced the primer bulb. 8. Put fresh 40:1 gasoline in. The saw finally started up and ran. 8. Ran the saw about a medium RPM and turned the Lo carb adjustment screw slowly clockwise until maximum RPM and the saw then idled nice without shutting off. The parts from eReplacement.com were excellent quality. I should have purchased a new carb from eReplacementParts.com to start with. I did purchase a flywheel removal tool and with an impact wrench removed the flywheel. I watched a eReplacementParts You Tube video on replacing the engine main bearings. The video was VERY helpful.

Tear the whole saw apart, cleaned and inspected parts, make a parts list of parts needed, check availability and pricing, order parts, found the need for another part also, ordered again.
Watched video from eReplacement Parts for engine seal replacement. This was an excellent video of step-by-step instructions. I did not like the liquid sealant I purchased. Go with a brand you know. Overall, the repair was fairly simple with the correct tools.

I would attempt this repair again with confidence.
Another hint, since you have to do a total dis-assemble of the engine you may consider replacing the piston ring while you have it apart. Also the oil pump to be safe.
This saw was purchased in 2006 and was 13 years old before it needed this type of repair.
