This chain pad is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer. The plastic pad is compatible with many chainsaws. This component is fitted in the clutch cover assembly, providing protection from the wear of the chain. A screwdriver, pair of pliers and a socket set are often helpful in making the repair. The chain pad is sold individually.

If you need, take pictures as you disassemble...then you can have reference if no repair book is at hand.

Had a bad carburetor and needed to put on a new muffler with screws
1. Removed the filter cover and then the filter.
2. Removed the 3 screws holding on the piston cover housing.
3. Removed carburetor and replaced with new parts
4. Removed muffler and replaced
5 Reassembled saw
1. Removed the cover
2. Removed the old chain pad that was on the saw
3. Installed the new one and then placed the other chain pad on the cover.
4. Replaced the cover.
