It is a genuine component that is supplied by the original manufacturer for use with Craftsman lawn tractors. The blade drive belt spins on the shaft providing power to the blade. A wrench will be needed to remove the nuts from the pulley to get access to the belt. This part is made of rubber and is sold individually.
1. Took out the cotter pins that hold the connector arm for the tensioner to the idler arm.
2. Loosened the bolt holding the idler wheel.
3. Took out the bolt that held the Idler arm assembly. Two wrenches...one above the deck, one below.
4. Removed the broken assembly and discarded.
5. Replaced the idler arm with

6. Releasing the tensioner (above the deck) allowed the installation of the belt with very little trouble.
7. Replaced the bolts, the tensioner arm connector, and the cotter pin holding the connector.
8. Tightened the bolts and it worked like a charm.

1. Dropped the blade casing to the lowest position.
2. Loosened the bolt that held the belt in place.
3. Placed the belt on the pulleys and re-tightened the bolts.
4. Started the mower to ensure that installations were successful.
