Stop Switch-sp Plug 220884

Removed 4 engine head bolts to remove a portion of the cowling
Installed the kill switch
Re-installed engine cowling, and reinstalled 4 engine head bolts
Tools used we\'re 9/16ö socket and ratchet wrench.

I fully extracted the rope and wrapped it around the raised recoil facing while I clamped the recoil pulley in place using a 5\" C clamp being careful to not over tighten and cracking the pulley. Then I replaced the old rope. Knotting the pulley end and securing the handle end.
Replacing the missing Stop Switch was another issue. F ... Read more ortunately, I ordered the correct unit. There were several to choose from. this is the type that snaps against the spark plug to short it to ground to stop the engine. The original had been missing for over 20 years. I used to choke the engine to stop it ( this is on a Gilson roto tiller). The switch snaps into a section of sheet metal that covers the head. But the metal is slightly fatigued which is probably the reason the OEM switch was lost---it fell off. Bending the sheet metal was a dicey approach. So I cut a piece of scrap 1/8\" steel that I
Drilled a 5/16\" hole to fit under a head bolt and cut it 3/4\" wide by 1.5\" long. Once bolted down it supplied sufficient pressure to the sheet metal holding the switch just enough to \"snap\" back and forth just like the original action. Should I ever need to exert a little more pressure on the sheet metal, I can simply unbolt the new piece and slightly bend it downward and avoid breaking the sheet metal.
