Cable-traction 106-8300

Start at the top of the mower, and remove the old cable form its connection
Install the new cable in its place on the top of the mower
Follow the lower end of the old cable connection and remove it
Install the new cable at the lower end , as the old one was

Read owners manual and followed simple instructions of removal and resetting. It was very easy only needing a socket set to remove and reset bolts. Could not be happier with the quality of the OEM part. Back to moving!

It was a pretty easy repair, just undo all the screws and bolts on the old parts and then put the new ones in (some of the parts, like bolts were still in good shape so I mixed and matched for what worked best regarding nuts and bolts). The traction cable does have to be set in the cable anchor properly so that it stays in place on the ha ... Read more ndle but otherwise it is very straight forward replacement of parts.

One thing I got wrong, though, is that the upper handle is not symmetric and the bolt securing the cable anchor has a square head, so you\'ll want to make sure to get that right...square hole goes to the left size (orientation is relative to the mower being in front of you, like you are holding the handle and mowing). I didn\'t realize that until I had the whole thing almost entirely back together again. If you miss that like I did, you can also use a hammer to seat the bolt so you don\'t have to disassemble everything again.
