Spring/cable for remote wheel engage/disengage broke and wrapped around sliding dog clutch assembly. The spring then scrapped off most of the rubber on the friction wheel.
Repair was difficult but do-able. Replacing the friction wheel is much easier if you can remove the wheel drive axle. Despite my best efforts I could not remove the right wheel. This makes for very little room. I was able to skew the hex shaft for the friction wheel enough to remove it and replace it with the new one. The springs and cabl
... Read moree were easy enough to replace. Snowblower is back together and waiting for snow. Although it is fixed I will try to refrain from using the wheel disengage feature.
