Popped out old latch with screw driver and pliers.
Difficult part was determining which of the three replacement latches in the package was the correct one. All looked the same except different colors.
Trial and error determined it was the gold one.

The door latch was broken inside of the door.

1. Removed the broken plastic part with pliers from the inside square hole of the door.
2. Pressed the new latch in the hole.
