There was never a repair necessary. I have so many leaves from my trees that I have to mulch first then pick up the mulched leaves. I take the bags off the mower and allow the leaf pieces to fall to the ground but they scatter creating a lot more work. I will remove the bottoms of the old bags in order to direct the leaves so they don\
