Removed back and side panels
Took pictures of original wires and tubing connections
Removed all tubing connections and wires
Removed heater bracket 4 screws
Remove heater from bracket 2 screws
Reverse to install new heater

Heat exchanger had a leak, replaced along with thermostat.
1. Removed covers
2. Removed tubes and wires to the exchanger
a. Hard to access tubes & wires
3. Removed exchanger
4. Replaced exchanger and thermostats
5. Reattached all tubes and wires.

The aluminum heating element for the water/steam unit leaked at a seam.

Disassembled the outside cover
Took many photos of the old part in place
Removed the wires from the old, leaking part
Removed two small water hoses from leaky part
Also had to remove 2 screws holding in the plate that the heating assembly is attached to, and maneuver that forward to access the screws holding the he

Also had to unclip and pull off a larger hose that goes to coffee side, to get working space
After that, we just replaced things in order and tested it before we replaced the outside panels.
Everything works but unfortunately, there now appears to be an air lock in the line that prevents enough pressure getting through to make good steam and froth. I spoke to a DeLonghi technician who diagnosed the problem and said it just takes time to work it out.
Lots of time - still hasn\'t resolved itself. I\'m thinking of reopening machine, trying to identify the correct hose line and giving it a one good blow - unless anyone out there has a better idea. I read one report here where they just turned the frother on and off about 20 times to work the air out. Hasn\'t worked yet. The job required 4 hands.
I had previously replaced the tap in just a few minutes, and when testing for leaks realized the leaky heating element was causing the water coming out of the bottom at the back.
The steam boiler stopped working. I tested the boiler with a multi meter and the homeless were too low. The new boiler tested fine but now there is no power getting to the boiler. IÆm thinking it may be a control board issue. Will keep posting
