This is an original Bostitch replacement part manufactured for use with pneumatic nailers and staplers. The special bumper is used to provide cushioning between the head valve spring and the cylinder cap. This top bumper is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.
Removed the cap by removing 4 screws, removed the worn and broken parts and installed the new ones. Cleaned the inside of the nail gun, then oiled the inner parts, then replaced the cap.
Removed the 4 screws to remove exhaust housing
Removed the spring loaded bumper from the exhaust housing
Dumped out all the broken debris
Replaced the bumper and reassembled
