The special bumper is used to provide cushioning between the head valve spring and the cylinder cap. Broken bumper.

Removed the cap by removing 4 screws, removed the worn and broken parts and installed the new ones. Cleaned the inside of the nail gun, then oiled the inner parts, then replaced the cap.

Removed the 4 screws to remove exhaust housing
Removed the spring loaded bumper from the exhaust housing
Dumped out all the broken debris
Replaced the bumper and reassembled
