This is an authentic Porter Cable replacement part, sourced from the original manufacturer for use with planers. The metal blade retainer is used to fasten the cutting blade to the gear shaft. This blade retainer is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.
1. Removed 4 screws to remove the blade cover plate.
2. Removed the blade parts and the retainer pieces from the blade compartment.
3. Installed the new blade.
4. Screwed in the retainer washer.
5. Reinstalled the blade cover.
