Remove the four (4) hex bolts. Remove the piston, spring, upper seal and spring base from old cap. Clean and lightly grease air piston assembly. Reassemble. Insure this is completed in a clean environment, as any contaminants on the piston seals can cause the nailer to jam or fail.

Top piece (air diverter) broke. Replaced the housing cap. There was a rubber gasket in the old housing cap that was hard to remove without damaging it. I used a scratch awl to break the seal around the two edges. And was able to pull out the gasket. I highly recommend buying a gasket if you replace the housing cap. I would have, if I knew about it. Nailer is about 14 years old.
