All you need to do is simply detach the line for the holder, run through hole on trimmer, and put spool in place. These are factory wound so I order three spools a season and replace the whole spool rather than re-string an existing spool. The factory wind works much better in terms of feeding and longevity. I recycle the old spools.

The cover broke, and the spool was chewed with wear
Everything snapped in place without problem. I\'m a 72 year old woman who was shy about ordering the parts and trying to repair the weed eater myself, but the parts were easy to find on your website, and putting the parts together was a snap.

My cover for the spool and the spool had problems after winter.
I removed the cover by pressing on the side tabs, and removed it, removed the spring and the spool. Placed the spool in correctly Then I let some of the line out out of the spool housing. Placed in the spring and press the cap back on to secure the spool. These parts have made it run great since.

Installed new spool and let some line out off the spool housing. I then placed the spring on the cap and lined up the cap with the spool housing holes and pressed it in.

While weed eating hit a wire fence parts flew - lost the lever bump cover warped
Replaced spool. Simply took off the cover, removed old spool and secured the new one in place. Ran the line and reattached the cover. Trimmer runs great!
