This prefilter is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part that is specially produced for Black and Decker hand vacuums. Its purpose is to provide an extra layer of filtration from dust and particles that are picked up by the unit. One plastic prefilter is included per order, please note that the main pleated paper filter is sold separately. No tools would be needed to replace this prefilter, simply take out the old prefilter and replace it with a new one.
