This part is available as an individual replacement and is made of plastic. The cylinder attaches to the o-ring and the check seal. If it becomes broken it will need to be replaced and may require an allen wrench during the installation. This item is an original part from Porter Cable for use in nailers.

Removed all of the internal parts. Salvaged usable gaskets and rings. Checked everything for wear and then replaced the cylinder in the casing. Put the cover back in place and I was back in business.
The parts were exactly what I needed.

Removed the four screws from the cylinder cap, Removed the cylinder from the gun. Replaced the check seal. Installed all of the other good parts back on to the new cylinder
