This is a casing for the drive shaft cable of a drywall sander, crafted from durable rubber and metal, and is an authentic OEM part. Over time, prolonged use, or in case of damage, replacing this casing is essential for your sander to maintain optimal functionality and to prevent dust accumulation around critical mechanical joints. To replace the casing, gather a screwdriver and wrench. Start by removing the pins securing the yoke to the pivot assembly of the sander. Next, pull the boot off the casing and proceed to remove the screws fastening the casing to the boom arm. Unfasten the other end of the casing from the sanding pad. Remove the casing from the shaft, and detach the boot and flange from the old casing to install them onto the new casing. Before installing the new casing, inspect the drive shaft for potential damage, as it might need replacement as well. Install the new casing onto the shaft and thread it onto the shroud. Screw the casing into the boom arm through its flange and reinstall the boot. Finally, resecure the yoke to the sanding pad by screwing in the pins on the other side.
