This is a genuine manufacturer sourced replacement part designed for Bostitch staplers. This gasket provides an air-tight seal for the spacer cap. Over time this gasket will shrink, become brittle and crack allowing for air leaks. At that time it should be replaced. It is made out of compound material and it is sold individually. Replacing this item you would need pliers.

I twisted off the head of the nail gun, replaced the gasket & replaced the head by hand.

Removed old driver replaced with the new one added the gasket and the O-ring. Unfortunately this did not alleviate the problem any advice greatly appreciated

I removed the top cap, then the piston stop, then the spacer cap. I then removed the broken gasket, clean the surfaces very carefully. Placed the new gasket on the main housing. I then reinstalled all of the parts back in reverse order.

Remove top cap, piston stop,o-ring and spacer cap. Remove the old gasket and replace it with the new one. Reassemble in reverse.
