Removed the cover and soap container by removing the screws on the bottom of the unit. Then remove the 2 small brackets that hold the pump housing to the base. You can see the retaining pin for the tube, but you need to remove the pump to have clearance to remove the small retaining pin that holds in the outlet tube. Once you remove the p ump, use a flat-blade screwdriver to ease out the retaining pin, and use a pliers or similar tool to pull out the old outlet tube. Put the new tube in, being careful not to damage the threads, reinstall the retaining pin, reattach the pump housing to the base, and finally, reinstall the soap container and cover.

Removed the rewind reel for old hose. Disconnected the hose connector discarding the tubing and tearing down to the outlet site. Hole saw for cutting hoke for new and better hose. The Ryobi connecter fit perfectly and the washer works better than it ever did. You tube video shows the description of the work.

WHAT I LEARNED
In order to get at the u-ring, you have to remove the entire plastic casing, about 8 screws.
In order to get the u-ring out without damaging or bending it, vise grips are best but pliers will do.
In order get the u-ring back in, even with a little grease it would not slide back in fully.
What I had to do was tap it in with a hammer.
A rubber mallet would be even better.
Just be careful not to bend the u-ring.
