1. Remove blade
2. Remove retaining bolt on guard center
3. Remove return spring
4. Adjust straighten bent metal guard
5. Install new guard & old spring
6. Install blade
7. Adjust bolt torque to allow free guard return

Remove the parts that are holding the guard to the saw. Before you remove the guard, make a note on how the spring is attached to the old guard and housing. Remove the old guard. Place the spring on the new guard and housing. Then install the parts that you removed.
