Carbon brushes are the key component of an electric motor, because they experience constant friction and heat over time they will wear away eventually requiring replacement. This brush assembly is a high quality OEM sourced item that is specially designed for Ridgid circular saws. It includes one metal brush holder, spring and one carbon brush with an attached lead wire. To replace this assembly you will need a screwdriver to disassemble the housing.
