This replacement brush assembly is a genuine OEM sourced item. It is specially made for a Ridgid random orbit sander. Brushes play important role in electric motors by conducting the electric current. Over time they will wear away requiring replacement. Please note, this assembly includes (1) metal holder and (1) carbon brush with a lead wire and spring attached. Replacing this carbon brush is a simple task that should only require a screwdriver.

Removed the top cap of the sander, then made a wiring diagram of the switch wires. I then disconnected the wires from the old switch and connected them to the new switch. Then I disconnected the old brushes from their leads and reconnected the new brushes. Checked to see if any wires were in the way , then attach the top cap of the sander back on.
