I got the planer used...and took a risk buying it. Sure enough when i got it it didn\'t work correctly and I was super bummed. When I turned it on it vibrated like crazy!! But the solution was actually pretty simple when I looked at it. It was just missing the third blade assembly so the cylinder where the blades sat on did not have prope r weight distribution. So I took the other two blade assemblies off and ran it and it ran just fine. So I got these items, popped them on. And BOOM! Works like a champ

Blade lock bar screw came loose, allowing the lock bar to come loose and hit the inside of the planer. This destroyed the lock bar, and bent the exhaust guard.

Removed broken pieces. (including broken screw that initially caused the problem)
Replaced all blades and all blade lock bars
had to remove exhaust guard to repair it as it got bent when the blade lock bar bent and hit it.

Followed video on your site though gear assembly was different and unscrewed the wrong ... Read more />screws. This caused the gear assembly to come apart. Was difficult to get back together and
put one of the long screws in the wrong hole, which caused it to bind on the height adjustment screw and put a dent in the threads. Had to take apart the gear assembly again and put everything back together. Took about 3 times to get it working again. But felt very accomplished once it was done. Really appreciate the videos on the site, even if it wasn\'t exactly my model.

You have to drill the hex head out and use and easy out. This is not easy because they are case hardened and you need good drill bits to go deep enough for so the easy out can bite in. I used penetrating oil on the heads and let it set for 2 days. I used a hammer and a wrench to set the easy out into the drilled head. Strike the top of th e easy out and turn it counter clockwise at the same time to get it in as deep as you drilled. I use a torch to head the head up and put some more oil on it and reheated it. I should mention you need a heat blanket so you donGÇÖt damage anything else. Turn the easy out counter clockwise. Just put enough pressure but donGÇÖt over do it. I had repeat this process twice before the hex head bolt came out. I then used a small wire brush to clean the threads out and used my shop vac in case of any dirt or shavings might be on the drum.
