One of two parts shown in diagram missing
The diagram that I ordered the part from shows that the part number I used includes both the lock nut and the small set screw (which is what I was really missing) as belonging to the same part number. When my ordered arrived I noted that the small set screw (used to hold the lock nut in place) was not included and thus my fishing reel is still not functional. I will now need to somehow find this tiny screw somewhere.

2 Removed the reel handle and drag star nut
3. Removed side covers to allow access to crank gears
4. Took screwdriver and removed screw holding gear on to side cover
5. Removed worn out gear and replaced with new one.
