This part is the OEM part from Abu Garcia. The Brake Block Medium 5000 is constructed of a plastic composite, and is compatible with Ambassadeur reels. This item is fitted into the brake drum, and controls the speed of the spool during the cast. A screwdriver may be helpful in making the repair. This part is sold individually.

Opened side of reel by untightening the three hand screws and using screwdriver to remove two others as well as reel handle and drag handle. Ordered both the medium and large size brake blocks but the large were by far the best size for my Garcia 5600C baitcasting reel. Took this opportunity to clean and wipe down internal parts as well

Just accessed the brake plate by removing the handle side of the reel, very easy, and inserting the brake blocks onto the shaft.
