This replacement part is specially designed for Shimano fishing reels. It is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer. The drag washer is an important component of the drag mechanism which applies tension on the line. If the fish pulls on the line hard enough, the reel will rotate backward, letting the line out and preventing it from breaking. This part is designed to wear out with time and will eventually need to be replaced. Check the diagrams for your model to ensure the exact location and the correct installation of this item. You will need a screwdriver to take the reel apart when performing this repair. Note, one durable drag washer is included.
