This is a genuine replacement part manufactured for use with gas powered trimmers. This rocker switch, also called a kill switch has two positions. The run position allows the trimmer to start, and stay on, the the off position will shut down the engine. The switch is sold individually.

Remove spark plug wire from plug empty gas from trimmer lay on side remove screws holding two halves together there is a spring at throttle make sure you remember its position unplug the two wires that go to the switch pop old switch out with pliers insert new switch connect both wires to new switch reassemble two halves make sure throttl

removed the screws on the orange handle around the trigger
removed the handle on both sides
pryed out the kill switch
inhooked both electrical connectors
connected electrical connectors to new switch
snapped switch into handle
installed both sides of the handle
replaced screws
Pulled starter assembly, unscrewed hub, replaced spring and reassembled. Unscrewed handle, disconnected old switch, installed new one then reassembled.
