Product Description

?

This 1/2" keyless chuck is a high quality item designed for use with Milwaukee drill drivers. It is a genuine part that is sourced directly from original equipment manufacturer. This keyless chuck allows user to secure a drill bit without the need for any tools while the ratcheting action clicks the jaws tightly into place for reduced bit slippage. If your drill's bit retention is suffering or the rotation feels stiff a new chuck should fix the problem. This durable chuck is made from metal and hard plastic for prolonged life and it is sold individually. Please note that the screw to secure it is sold separately.

The hardest part was the removal of the original keyless chuck. To accomplish this, I watched a YouTube video so I understood the process. I chucked in a socket driver adaptor and used a breaker bar to create the leverage to break the original chuck free. After the chuck was free, the rest was easy. A key consideration is determining that the securing screw is reversed thread. Very easy fix.

In my case, I had tried more than several times to get the frozen chuck to rotate in some direction. After a while, I easily rotated the chuck off the threaded shaft because the screw head had broke off. After that I used a pair of plier to get the screw threads out.
Next I rotated the new chuck to it\'s most open position. Then I threaded the new chuck onto the drill. After that I inserted the screw into the open chuck and onto the threaded hole. Then you turn, turn until the screw is tight (turn to the left, by the way - I forget the name for this type of thread). Next I put in my bit on and got after it. Easy, peasy. Beats buying a new drill.
