This replacement part is specially designed for Dewalt compound miter saws. It is supplied directly from original equipment manufacturer. Kerf boards, also known as kerf plates are used to prevent excessive splintering. This results in better and cleaner cuts. This part is made out of yellow plastic and it is sold individually. Screws that attach this kerf board are sold separately.
Removed/replaced saw fence adjustable base. Four star screws held fence and single nut held base. removed and installed. Easy as that. Remove the screws and pull out kerf plates.
Place new kerf plates in position and use old screws to fasten.
