It is a genuine OEM sourced replacement part that is specially designed for use with Makita compound miter saws. This sub fence adds height to the side helping with taller moldings and workpieces. First you have to remove the handle from the housing with six screws then remove the motor housing disconnecting the wires reversed the steps and install the new parts.
