This original Char-Broil replacement parts is designed for use with gas grills. The purpose of a heat diffuser is to direct grease and drippings away from the burner tubes, which cuts down on flare ups tremendously. An extra benefit of these diffusers is that they help to add that "cooked on a grill" flavor to your food. Tents tend to rust is the combination of heat and moisture and should be replaced if they are damaged or lost. This item is made out of steel with porcelain coating and it is sold individually.

Dismantled part by part that had all but disintegrated. Then spent 45 minutes figuring out how to install. A sketch or installation hint would have saved 30 minutes. After that it was a snap to put back. Next time I would skip the electrode starters.
