Seat, Operator 84002668

The seat did not have Snapper written it on as the picture suggests. The replacement seat fit fine, it is all plastic, the original had a metal undercarriage. I took the kill switch off the old seat and it worked on the new one. I had to buy new bolts as the ones that came with the seat were too short.

This seat is very similar to the original seat but it is not made by Snapper as shown in the Website picture. (A bit of false advertising I would say) If you buy it, be prepared to go to the local hardware store because the original bolts that hold the seat to the sliding plate won't be long enough. The threaded inserts in this new seat are recessed about a 1/2" deeper that the original seat so longer bolts are needed. Also, I am now having trouble with the safety switch that is built into the seat. It doesn't engage all the time so the tractor won't move. I fixed this temporarily by putting something on the seat that I sit on which applies more pressure on the switch. I would only recommend this seat to someone who can't find the seat anywhere else.
