This is an authentic replacement part manufactured for use with trimmers. The special spring is used to provide compression for the spool to recede into the housing when bumping more string out of the trimmer head. This spring is sold as an individual replacement part, and will come with the complete trimmer head assembly. Please see model diagram for associative parts.
