Removed broken guard by removing 4 star shaped screws from the two retaining brackets. Inserted new guard and the two retaining brackets. Inserted two screws into each bracket.
Note: A star shaped screwdriver was required to replace the rear protective guard for my cordless Ryobi mower.
1. Removed the handle, wheels, wheel brackets and top cover.
2. Removed the broken bracket among tension springs and cotter pins
3. Reassembled the parts from Step 1
