This is an original part from Craftsman for use with Trimmers. The clutch drum engages with the clutch to spin the flex shaft and cutting head. The most common reasons for replacing the clutch drum is if the trimmer head is not rotating under the throttle, the trimmer head stops when under load (when the line contacts the lawn, weeds, etc.), the drive shaft is not engaging, the clutch is not engaging the drum, the clutch drum (lining) is stripped (engine/throttle works fine; but drive shaft does not spin) or there is loss of torque during use. This part is sold individually. Here is a list of tools that are needed to replace the clutch drum a receptacle for draining fuel, Phillip's screwdriver, ratchet and socket set, Torx wrenches, starter rope (or similar object) for binding engines, spark plug wrench or socket and an adjustable wrench.
