Trimmer has attachments and the cable from the power unit was warn out from on and off attachments. I had to buy the upper boom assembly and it worked.
I removed the old upper boom assembly and proceeded to reassemble the way the old one came off. I recommend watching the wiring to the on-off switch that it slides into the protective slot.

Kept losing a special bolt that keeps the motor from turning on the shaft.
My instructions? Go to eReplacement Parts and find what is needed. Look up your equipment. Find the exploded parts diagrams and look for the needed part. Then order it! The part I needed is not carried by Home Depot or Lowe\'s. But eReplacement Parts had it. Whew. Then just screw it in the upper shaft.
