Genuine Porter Cable replacement part, this item is sold individually. The 4" Shoe Assembly attaches to the base of the 4x24 Belt Sanders listed below. The purpose of this part is to allow the sanding belt run against it, it helps to create a smooth flat sanded surface. It includes the metal platen cork & three mounting screws. Over time the platen and cork will start to wear. It should be replaced ASAP then. (4 Inch) Includes Cork and Screws

Took the belt cover off; clean old belt out & put new belt on. Removed the three screw from the old shoe and used them to install the new one.

Drive pulley was off center, cork and steel plate worn

Used wrench that you remove the nut of 4 inch grinder to hold pulley than used a 5/8 socket to remove nut, removed pulley installed new and tighten nut. I then removed the screws holding the shoe on and replaced it with the new shoe with the screws provided.

Worn shoe assembly, broken screws

Pull lever to release tension on the sanding belt
Remove sanding belt
Remove 3 screws attaching the old / worn shoe assembly and remove the shoe
Clean the area with a soft brush to remove dust and grit
Place the new shoe assembly to align with the holes for the mounting screws
Attach the shoe assembly by tig htening screws
