Removed cover and hard to stretch cord to get brush unit back in place; cord broke off and had a large nick in the rubber. At least the cord did not completely break apart as it was reinforced with a fiber cord in the middle and I was able to reinstall and use again for 10 minutes. Removed the bottom plate
Removed the broken belt and brush roll
Place the belt around the motor shaft and the brush roll
Pull on the brush roll so it sits in its place
Install the bottom plate
Removed lower cover, no tools required, slipped off old belt, lifted out brush roll, put new belt over brush roll and reinstalled on machine. Very easy to do.
Opened bottom of vacuum, removed brush bar and belt installed new parts. Very easy. My old Hoover is 35 years old and works better than these new bag less models!!!!!
