It can be used to measure temperature inside the grill and the temperature of the food. This part is made out metal and it is sold individually. Wingnut is included. Dial reads 0 - 700 degrees.

Removed one door an removed adjustment knobs. Took three screws off of the end piece and one larger screw. Lifted front piece up an had access to remove the plastic nut on the igniter switch. Unplugged wires an installed new switch. Reconnected the wires and put end piece back on, knobs and door. The temperature gauge was easy. Lifted up
