I was a Makita tech also in the repair business so I was familiar with ereplacementparts. Directions came with head and is very simple. Hardest part is locking the spindle to get old head off, but there is a screw hole to get to gears to apply enough pressure to loosen head.

Purchased this Robin branded (Subaru Commercial) trimmer in 1994 and this was the first time I had performed any maintenance on the trimmer. The maintenance was needed because the fuel tank started leaking gas from around the tank hose. Upon taking the engine cover off (removed 4 screws), I realized the hoses were no longer pliable and ha rd become hardened. The air filter had disintegrated and half of it was gone. The parts were very simple to replace. Upon replacement, I primed the engine and it started on the second pull, as it has for the past 22 years.
I was so glad to have found this website. The parts were very reasonable and the catalog was very easy to search. It helped that I could see the parts, and find the recommended parts visually. The previous comments were great. Thank you!

Lucky I had some spare fuel line lying around. 5 screws and the cover was off . Primer just snaps into place.
The trimmer head came with more than enough parts and was easy swap. not sure why I waited so long to replace? Machine is 16 yrs old and wore the plastic \"bump\" head until the spring came through. The trimmer head include s installation instructions.
