This service armature assembly is specially designed for Milwaukee impact drivers. It is a genuine item that is supplied from original equipment manufacturer. This assembly includes an armature, a plastic fan, armature bearing and commutator end bearing. It is a key component of an electric motor. It is highly recommended to replace both carbon brushes when replacing an armature. To replace this service armature assembly you will need a screwdriver.
Remove the end cap, remove the brush card from the end of the armature, remove the nose assembly, remove the torx screws holding the case halves together, split the case, remove the armature from the magnet, install the new armature, unsolder the brush card leads from the trigger assembly, solder the leads of the new brush card to the tri
... Read moregger assembly, Install the brush card on the armature commutator, reassemble being very careful to route all wiring the same way. If the case halves won\'t go together fully the gear cup is probably 180 degrees out; the lugs that seat in the case halves are not centered, so it only goes in one way. If the brushes are shot the armature is likely not salvageable because there will be damage to the commutator. These parts must be replaced together to restore proper tool function. Its not a terribly tough job, but you have to be able to solder, and everything is really packed in the tool without any spare space, so care is needed on reassembly so no wires get pinched, etc.
