Socket would not stay on

2) Insert pick lengthwise from side, forcing ring outward.
3) Insert small flathead screwdriver from top, and pry retaining ring out and off.
4) Replace rubber o-ring underneath, and grease.
5) Use 1/4\" deep socket barely larger than anvil head, place snap ring on top of anvi ... Read more l, and with a small hammer, pop retaining ring over the round edge and into place on anvil.
6) Grease retaining ring and squeeze closed with pliers, then slide impact socket on several times to seat.
Addendum: Description is wrong. It is a \"Retaining Ring\" not a rubber ring. It is hardened steel with a rubber flat ring underneath, sold as a kit.

2. Unpacked new parts and laid them out on workbench
3. Disassembled gear train, cleaned, regreased and reassembled.
4. Soldered motor leads from controls to motor ( they are marked )
5.Using old parts as a guide assembled new parts to gearcase then into new handle.

7. Finally removed old hog ring and rubber ring and replaced with new ones.
