It is an authentic OEM sourced starter assembly, it is specially designed for use with Powermate generators. This is the mechanism that allows a user to pull-start the engine. Unfortunately, over time any of the components may wear out and begin to fail eventually requiring a replacement. It is a complete assembly which includes the durable plastic housing, the starter pulley, the starter spring, and the pull rope with the grip. Please note, the hardware to secure it is sold separately.
