Need help finding your model number?This is an original part from Shindaiwa for use with Trimmers and Brush Cutters. The gear case assembly contains the gears that turn the line spool for cutting. The most common reasons for replacing the gear case assembly is if the trimmer head not spinning (while the shaft is spinning), or there is grinding noise coming from trimmer head. This part is sold individually. The tools that you will need to replace the gear case assembly is a small screwdriver or hex wrench, Phillip's screwdriver, and a Socket/Ratchet set (or wrench set).
