Original Manufacturer Approved replacement Spindle Assembly 6.3 Diameter used on Lawn Tractors/Mowers. Includes Housing, Shaft assembly, Bearing, Pulley and nut. The mounting holes on the Mandrel are not threaded. But the bolts that are used to secure the mandrel to the deck are self tapping. The Mandrel shaft goes thru the deck and the pulleys are attached to them, then the belt that drives the mandrels is placed in the pulleys.

Instead of replacing the bearings, I opted to just replace the complete assembly. I removed the deck. I removed the blade. Then I remove the bolts holding the spindle. I noticed that the new spindle housing was not threaded, but the bolts that hold it on are self tapping. So I bolted up the new spindle, replaced the blade. Then hooked up

Used a screwdriver to pop the three pins holding the deck. Slid the belt from the engine drive pulley Removed the three screw bolts on the spindle cover after sliding the deck out from under the machine. Used two sockets on both sided of the spindle to remove the blade. removed the bolt screws to free the spindle. Replace with new spind

One spindle broken and replaced both cutting blades
I am 83 yrs old. I can`t work on the ground anymore. I lifted the entire tractor, with a chain hoist to about 4 ft and installed the new spindle (which fit perfectley) and added a new belt. The new part was shipped quickly, and I had no problem with the grass \"getting ahead of me\" If you need parts, This is the place to go!
Jacked up front of rider mower. Gathered tools, creeper, socket set, air gun and 15/16\" socket. First removed belt shield ( 3 bolts ), then blade. Next removed spindle (4 bolts ). Inspected old spindle and compared to new. Discovered new spindles 4 bolt holes were not tapped.

... Read moret to chance it with pot metal, so I pre tapped them first. Glad I did worked great, bolted right in. Put mower back together, picked up tools, started mower and made a few test cuts, perfect.
Used floor jack. Jacked up riding mower. Raised deck to highest level. Used impact tool to remove blade nut and 4 spindle bolts. Lowered deck to lowest level. Removed old spindle. Install new spindle tighten 4 3/8 spindle bolts. Install blade and new spindle bolt for blade.
