Water inlet, the sheer genius of using brass on the female end of the hose to mate with the plastic or nylon male threads. These hoses had been connected and not leaking for some 16 yearsI needed to clean the screens of goop.NOW, there's no way to get them to go back on without leaking.I thought if there were some sort of adapter to glue onto the inlet threads, sealing them, and then attaching the hoses to nice new threads.Might anybody have some suggestions? The washer works fine and I really don't want to buy a new washer at this time.Thank you.Jim

I set up on wooden blocks to take the back of the washer off to get to the valve, the other washer I lend it back to the wall to get to the motor to put the joint in between the transmission of the washer, it worked out pretty good

The hardest part of the project was moving the washing machine away from the wall to work on it because it is sitting on a platform. We had to build some falsework out in front of the platform to pull the machine on to get sufficient clearance. It was a simple matter of removing the hoses and back plate, then removing the valve, water i nlet & thermistor assembly. We found a replacement on eReplacementparts in about five minutes and ordered it. Installing the new part was a matter of attaching the electrical connections and hose, then reinstalling the back plate and hoses. A quick test confirmed all was well, and we successfully re-slid the machine back on the platform. The part ran about $80 and was a lot cheaper than calling the appliance dealer to send a guy out. eReplacement parts has saved us a lot of money on different repairs over the years, plus there is always the satisfaction of making something work again with one\'s own hands.
